A player with plenty of potential, midcourter Parris Petera gained her first full contract at the elite level with the Tactix in 2023. She spent a season with the Pulse in 2024 and made a return to the south and the Tactix for the 2025 season and where she will play again in 2026. Gaining more game time last season, Petera made the most of her opportunities to become part of the dynamic title-winning Tactix team of 2025. An accomplished NNL player with Mainland and Manawa, Petera got an early introduction to the top flight during a Covid-impacted 2022 season. Moving from Hawke’s Bay to take up a sports scholarship at the University of Canterbury, Petera has outstanding ball skills, flair and feeding accuracy while showing a defining level of maturity when making several cameo appearances for the Tactix in 2022. It was a similar story with the Pulse where, despite limited opportunities, she made significant progress in developing her game. A versatile player, who can switch between centre and wing attack, Petera adds variety and depth to an accomplished Tactix midcourt. She has previously played for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Māori netball team.
