Towering shooter Ellie Bird has continued to make significant strides during her first two years at the elite level and is back for a third season with the Tactix in 2020. Standing at 1.96m, the tallest player in last year’s competition, Bird was a telling presence under the Tactix hoop, her increased strength adding another dimension to her physical presence, mobility and rebounding ability. Bird was the second most accurate shooter in 2019 with a 90 percent return and further improvement is expected when she combines with an exciting new-look shooting end for the Tactix in 2020. Her promising credentials have been acknowledged with inclusion in the 2019-20 Silver Ferns Development Squad and 2019 All Stars team.
