VIP Frames and Trusses Tactix are excited to welcome former Silver Ferns Captain Gina Crampton to the squad under a two-week contract.
Crampton will provide valuable cover in the midcourt while Captain Erikana Pedersen manages her shoulder injury from Round 3 against Magic.
With 70 Silver Ferns Caps to her name, Tactix Head Coach Donna Wilkins says Crampton's experience and leadership will be a major boost for the squad, particularly with the younger midcourters.
“Gina is going to be huge for us,” said Wilkins.
“She not only gives us extra options on the court but with Kana being unavailable for the last few weeks, her experience is going to be a big asset to my young middies.
“The chance for our team to learn and play alongside her is super exciting”.
Crampton arrived in Christchurch Tuesday afternoon and has already jumped straight into training with her new teammates.
“It's been a really nice environment to come into,” said Crampton. “It's so calm and everyone has been so welcoming”.
Watching avidly from the sideline, Pedersen is very enthusiastic about their temporary addition.
“Having someone of Gina's caliber to guide our younger girls is so valuable,” she said, “I can already see how she's lifting the team. It gives me such comfort to know they're being looked after out there on the court”.
Crampton recently finished her temporary contract with the NSW Swifts in Australia’s Suncorp Super Netball competition, where she provided cover during Swifts co-captain Paige Hadley’s maternity leave
