It’s Pyjama day for the Trident Homes Tactix but that doesn’t mean the netballers are lounging around in their favourite pair, watching re-runs of their ANZ Premiership performances.

Instead, the Tactix are calling on their supporters to get behind them and the Kindness Collective to help donate a pair of new winter pyjamas to families in need around our Canterbury community.

For a second year, the Kindness Collective are running The PJ Project – a campaign to help provide an everyday essential to New Zealand families and Tactix midcourter Greer Sinclair says the team are standing behind the project while also calling their fans to join the cause.

“We all brought in a brand-new pair of PJs into training to donate to the Kindness Collective for The PJ Project as we feel this is a great way to help Kiwis around the country but especially in our Canterbury region,” she says.  “But we’re also asking for our fans to extend their support a little further by bringing a new pair of pyjamas to our next home game.”

The Tactix host the Stars in a Round 10 ANZ Premiership match at Christchurch Arena on Sunday, 7 May where fans will be able to deliver a new pair of winter pyjamas to Greer herself at a drop off point at the stadium.

Greer says the team is also working with St Margaret’s College in Christchurch to help raise awareness and add to The PJ Project.

“For some children, this may be the first time they receive something new and just for them, and that’s something that both the Tactix and St Margaret’s College are proud about supporting.”

Through The PJ Project, the Kindness Collective has provided over 60,000 items of winter warmth for children around the country.
