The Good Oil Tactix are excited to confirm a strong new shooting combination for the 2020 ANZ Premiership season.

Ellie Bird will return for the Tactix next season and will be joined by current Silver Fern Te Paea Selby-Rickit who moves north after nine seasons with the Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel.

Ellie heads into 2020 having completed a strong season as one of the league’s best shooters with 579 goals at percentage of 89.9%.

Te Paea combines height with strong shooting accuracy to have cemented herself as a constant threat on court while showing her craft inside the circle through clever offloads.

The Good Oil Tactix head coach Marianne Delaney-Hoshek said it was exciting to add a new dynamic in the shooting circle.

“Ellie’s game spoke for itself during the 2018 season where she went from strength to strength and we’re looking forward to her elevating even further next year,” she said.

“Te Paea is a calm and composed player who has the ability to shoot from range. With her championship winning and Silver Ferns experience she is a fabulous addition to our team.”

Already confirmed for the 2020 season are midcourters Charlotte Elley, Samon Nathan, Erikana Pedersen and Kimiora Poi and defenders Temalisi Fakahokotau and Jane Watson.
